Mark Gerritsen of the Canyon Runner took some pictures and I'll post them when he send pictures by e-mail.
It was good trip by any standard. I have about 12 hit and fought six bluefin on jigs from 6:00 am to 8:00 am.
I didn't get a hit after 8:00 am though we had hit steadily on bait until we left.
I think Mark will post about the trip under Canyon Runner report.
Kil you fight anything over 100lbs on 500g JM this trip? Curious if you had more opinions of blank yet.
Yes, I did a few in 100 lbs range.
I am positive the rod can handle 150 - 200 lbs tuna. I am on the waiting list on 10 day Wahoodad's long range trip on the Intrepid out of San Diego in mid Nov and I plan to test 500g Jigging Master rods for cow in 200 -300 lbs range if I can go.
Here are pictures of actions of 500g Jigging Master Power Spell on Tuesday.

hows that zeebaas working out?
Jesse
I am a Zeebaas dealer. So I got to test them before I sell them. I had about 80 - 90 lbs bluefin on about 25 lbs drag.
I think the light reel handled the fish superbly. However I was not comfortable with the short and straight handle. Maybe it is because I used to use curbed Stella handles. The optional oval shape knob was not bad as I worried. I don't know it is because I have small hands. For jigging it is not a good idea to use bailess spinning reels.
why is it not A good idea to use bailless spinning reels for jigging tuna?lolplease elaborate
