Thumbs up Just wanted to say.kudo's to shimano

On Jan 8,I sent A torium20 back to shimano and the service tech called me yesterday, jan 14 with an estimated cost to fix it.I couldent figure out what was wrong with it and was leaving it to the professionals,I figured it was A bearing or something that I wouldent have anyway, but wanted them to put A new drag system in it and grease/service it.Well 6days later and the reel is on its way back to me for A mere $30.00 thats what you call service!!!!!

$30 is too cheap for an antireverse bearing. So what was wrong with it?

I've never used Shimano service, but they have treated me right on rod warranties. My local guy can't seem to get parts from them in any decent amount of time, maybe I should just try ordering them myself.

    Post Graceland.

I didnt want to ask anymore questions on the phone as I thought it was very inexpensive. But when the reel comes back I will look at what they put into it and get back to you on that!I was just more impressed at the turn around time even if it did cost me more!

    Thumbs up

I second them. $ 30 for a 401te tuneup and $30 for a cte 700 with parts. Should be free parts the're less than two yrs old drags replaced. I was even billed. Mailed the reels the issues and they're back then comes the bill. When they see you drop around 4 beans a reel they assume you'll pay your service ticket.

Oh no, I don't think it cost you more. Around here it's going to cost you $20 just to clean and lube a reel. Sounds like their prices are very reasonable. For drags go to www.smoothdrag.com and get yourself some carbontex. You'll never need to replace a drag again after that.
