    June Jigging Competition - 12/13th

    Date: June 12 & 13, 2009 - Morehead City, NC

    Entry: Free Event

    Registration: All boats must be registered by June 10th to qualify for the competition and award.

    Captains Meeting: June 11th @ 7:30 pm in the EJW Parking Lot.

    EJW Map

    Weigh-in: Will be conducted on the IGFA scales at EJW between 3:30-6:30 on June 12 & 13th. No Amberjacks under 50" will be weighed. 4667B Arendell St. Morehead City, NC.

    Award: Based on highest total weight of one fish per participant. Grand prize is a piece of Custom Surfboard Art created by Craig Gurganus and donated by EJW, Brake Marine and Eastern Tackle.

    Rules: Fish must be caught using a vertical jig or popper only. No baiting or tipped allowing.

    Lodging: A group rate of $90 is available from the Buccaneer Inn, Morehead City. They have a note of the jigging competition in the book to refer to. There is a marlin tournament going on during this time, so book early because availability is not guaranteed. 2806 Arendell St. Morehead City, NC.

    7:30 - Capt. Meeting

    7am - 5 pm Fishing,
    6pm - No formal dinner event planned.

    June 13th:
    7am - 5 pm Fishing.
    7:00 pm - Award dinner hosted by Brake Marine and Eastern Tackle. Location is 202 Virginia Ave. Morehead City.

    The get together is now a compition...Myself and my crew wouldn't mind fishing in this..Maybe this can be the start of some local tournaments...Gman if you need a ride we can take a couple more on the Swell Rider..Since we fish out of AB/MHC most of the year we have a few honey holes for some big AJ'S

    No room for more boats? Sounds like this is getting better. I brought up the idea before of a friendly tourney. Ken got room on the sled?

    Of course more boats are welcome!!! If you've got a boat and crew, come on. I just have limited space with the folks that have voluteered their boats initially.

    I think it may be the start of a tournament. But right now I'm not interested in doing lie detectors and insurance and everything else it would take.

    Ken, I will make sure you get a registration form. Will Mike be riding with you?

    Thanks, Zacks a good friend of mine so if he has the reg forms I can grab one from him I see him on a pretty regular basis since I run my business in AB/MHC..If Mike needs a ride he's more than welcome to fish with me as is Glenn..Right now it's Myself, Travis and Maybe Jackie" Merry Marlin" if he's down east that weekend..Ken

    Sounds like a plan. Have you checked out all the jigging stuff EJW has now? They have it going on!!! They have the Shimano Trinidad 40N's which are beautiful reels. Almost make me want to sell my saltigas. Almost.
