    jigging at night?

The pic of the glow jig got me thinking about jigging at night. I am thinking about trying it and soon! Has anyone done this before and what kind of success did you have using glow jigs? Any info is appreciated as I have never fished offshore at night. Actually I have another question too...anyone ever done any trolling at night? I know the BFT fleet starts before sun-up but is there a troll bite for offshore species like in the stream? Thanks in advance for the info.

Bet your butt it works at night!

Up here in the NE/MA guys slay the YFT's at night with jigs. A lot of times they out produce bait.

BFT are hit or miss at night. Rarely, but it does happen, you'll get BFT at night. Usually around a food source ie: scallop draggers have them behind them in the dark and every now and then you'll get them coming through in the dark at the canyons.

Night i define as sundown till about 2am. From 3am till about sun up they start to bite again. It's dark but i consider that REALLY early am.

Reef fish tend to hunker down at night with the exception of a few. They move into there little holes and sleep.

Heard a few swords taken on jigs.

I know down in South Fla. guys night troll swords with glow in the dark moldcrafts.

Off NZ they troll at night too.

Might have to give that a shot this year.
