    Please let me get in on this thread. I got a P4 power spell casting reel and don't know which size rod to match it with. I do jig depht from 100' to 200' jig sizes are 5oz -7oz . Mainly targeting AJ, Grouper, American Red Snaper. Please shead me some light, thank you in advance

    you may have ordered something already - but i just figured id throw my .02 in.

    i say go with the 300g - i have a 400 and for anything less than 100lb AJ i would prefer the 300g.

    Yes, the 300 would be the better choice for spinning or conventional rods.

    Mine is actually an acid wrapped 400 that Paul did for me - i think an acid wrapped 300 would be great for large bottom fish/AJ.
