JIGGING MASTER JM POWER SPELL PE4 PE 4 REEL

I was wondering if any of you guys are/have using/used this reel, and any comments or feedback that you may have on it. I have my eyes on one, but wanted to get some color before i do anything.

I havent used it personally but kilsong has landed some pretty big bluefins on it over the 150 range I believe. I have inspected it in person and its a small but powerful reel. Jig4tuna (trav) just bought the PE5 I believe in the silver/gold combo. absolutely stunning looking reel but ... Im a spinning guy

I can say its very well built with a lot of attention to detail and the company tested it extensively.

I used one of the first ones imported into the states, and quite frankly i didnt care for it. After discussing with Kil about the reel i belive they have fixed some of the problems i encountered. I still dont like the 21 inches of line retrival the reel had for speed jigging or once a fish was hooked, however thats a personal preference.

d-a thanks for responding, i really appreciate your input. If you dont mind me asking, what reel(s) either spinning or conventional do you use on a regular basis, or like the most.

    THanks

I actually prefer conventionals for jigging, but use both conventional's and spinners well.

Im currently using shimano stella's as spinning reels: 5000,8000, and 10000's. For jigging I use a 8000pg exclusively

Conventionals I am currently using: OJ5000, accurate 665 2 speed, trinidad 30, torium 20, and accurate 197. For large fish jigging I use the OJ 5000 and 665, for smaller reef fish i use the trini 30 and torium 20.

Lever drags have there place in jigging, but for the most part there not needed and can be a little troublesome.

shimano stella 8000pg? And the OJ... is that referring to the ocea jigger reel?

Interested to see which reels youre referring to.

Additionally, i was wondering where you fish and what species you primarily are targeting... if you fish with Kil, i would have to guess tuna???

saltigas are great reels, they're tanks i have a 30 which i am currently using with a 5'8'' trevalla... just getting into jigging for BFT in Nj... I think i need something that has a better drag and more line capacity as i see myself becoming addicted to tuna fishing, and hope to start catching BFT upwards of 150# in the near future...

Yes both are JDM reels, the stella is a Power gear or and the Ocea jigger is a regular gear not the power gear. It has the 5.9:1 ratio

I have fished with Kil, but it was last year in the gulf for Yellow fin. I fish pretty much from the outer banks of Nc all the way to Texas. But most of my time is spent near the floating oil rigs in the gulf chasing tuna, and bottom dropping for grouper and snapper.
