on a recent trip to the 3 kings islands we had a very good range of JM rods from 150g through to 400g in stock spec and custom built Kojaks. We managed to pull some fairly decent sized fish out of tiger country with these rods.

If it wasnt for Chris bringing this gear into New Zealand we would still be using 7' glass rods with mono and winding as fast as we can.

    here's a few tanks:

this turned into the fish on the left which is 46KG and its bigger brother is 48

I am pretty sure this fish was caught on a bait but he was harnessed up to a HooX on a jm400. im very suprised his reel lasted longer than the first day this fish was about 57KG

This was on my boat but as you can see the rods dont mind being bent

The 150's starting to build a great reputation as an inshore rod for catching snapper and yellowtail. I can see the enjoyment gained from using these rods but its something that doesnt tickle my pickle
this fish of 25kg was pulled out of 15m of water on a jm150. Inexperience with the gear and a very angry yellowtail lead to the forgrip being cut like butter and the line touching the blank in several places. still a mighty fine capture on a noodle stick

Thanks for the site. I was using the fishingbuddy site out of Singapore to look at most of the JM and PowerSpell stuff. Lots of goodies on that site I want!

Just curious these rods Jm 400 what is the lightest jig you could use on this stick, and still get some action, thanks for the web page by the way, this style of fishing I think is all in the rod blank not in the crank, this slays the fish, might be wrong, reel has to stand up to the game but the rod seems to do all the work , so pour your $ in the stick? Again might be wrong, but watching all the videos under the tip the fish are already slain floating, the rod beat them.
