Chris: What do you think of the acid wrap guide set up? Seems like it would help with the rod twisting under sever load but you never see any factory rods configured that way??

there are few factory rods acids wrapped
you will be seeing more "bass" guys using acid in the near future
it seems.the big companys are happy with "if it aint broke" theory
if they try to go acid it is a whole new promotion they need to pay for and sell the people..
IF what they sell and market works..AND SELLS
it may not matter if there is a BETTER way or product for the consumer
we have been promoting, USING, ABUSING,,and LOVING acid for a long time
it is statring to get a following
we are actually doing the promo for the big companys![]()
Oh..Yeah..
Chris..you did get that acid rod
i have only heard the 1 review, have you had a chance to use it more?
I did fish an acid JM400 and did catch some Yellowtail with it, nothing outstanding, probably 40lb. It was hard to detect any superiority with the acid wrap, I was hung up dealing with the additional load that the longer rod had against me. Very few factory JM's are off spine, in fact it is hard to find it. So for me, the jury is out, I'm getting a custom acid JM150 built by Kojak - a master builder.
Kojak - the builder of that rod has since gone on to produce some magnificent acid JM's. In fact that is virtually all he does now. There are some crazies who are using Kojak JM150's to land 55-60lb Yellowtail! I worry because somebody is going to over-fish one and bust a tip and look to me for a warranty.
Yes there is a fast growing following for acid downunder. In fact on my jigging DVD, you will see an angler who is using an acid CTS blank and doing outstandingly well i might add. This next season will see a lot more acid wraps being used for jigging.kojak has orders pouring in for his custom acid JM's every day, we can't keep up the blank supply

did you get the 400g?
Yes I got the TC400g but these sold out rather quickly.
I am currently checking out a sample rod that is made OEM for me under my Jig Star brand. End result is a short JM-like rod that features all Fuji components including some understated bling components. I hope to retail these around NZ$400-450 (US$300-338).
