    Jigging in 2000ft ??

I am thinking of trying to catch some large black cod jigging.
I have 2250 ft of 100lb Power Pro on a 9/0 elec. reel.
Anyone have any tips to pull this off...?

    Best Catch
The next bite on a jig.
The trouble is being able to lift your rod enough to actually make the jig move. Even jigging in '850, the jig stroke has to be exaggerated as much as possible because the line is not going straight down, so some of the jig stroke is just taking up slack in the line.

    Thanks for the reply...
I am a deckhand on a black cod boat...We spend 4 hours drifting on the grounds and I don't have anything to do.
I was thinking of hanging a lb jig about 20ft under a 4 lb trolling weight. Probably use a Pro-Cure dispenser on the weight. Where we work...it is usually 8ft. swell so I could jig on the top of the swells...I just want to catch some big ones and keep them alive in a deck tank. I can't stand not fishing!
