Final Thoughts...

As another JigFest comes to a close. I'd like to express my sincerest appreciation to Arlen and Chip and Capt. Rick of Living Water Guide Service. I'd also like to personally thank David (Masonboro) for showing us what true southern hospitality is all about. You offered your gracious generosity towards all of us and I will never forget that. You took the time out of your day to pick folks up and drop folks off at the airport (when you didn't have to) as well as assisting us for dinners plans and reservations during our stay. You are the definition of kindness. And I'm glad you got your jigging fix in for two days straight.

Nick and Glenn, what can I say about my two big brothers from Jersey. You guys are the best and I'm grateful to the folks at APS and OTI for creating such great forums to have met people like you two. You both are truly class acts and remind me of what it's like to have GREAT, life-long friends. You guys are amazing fisherman that I look upto everytime I have a chance to watch you both in action. There's nothing like watching another guy jigging and hooking up! Nick, next time I expect to see you breaking out "the worm" on the boat deck next time! hahah

Al - Day two was a blast. 3 Sicilians and the Korean kid from North Jersey...sounds like a good title to a cable sitcom if you asked me It was great fishing with you again and like I figured....you were a jigging machine. Never stopped until we had to leave. Hardcore to the bone brother. I will jig with you any day, any time my man.

Arlen - it was great to finally fish with you man. You are the grouper jigga-man . Period. I need to watch you more next time. Ontop of the grouper, I heard that you and Doug were hammering the Trigger fish on the first day on Smith Dunkshots. That's badass man. Gotta try that next time when I'm down there

Chip - You are a blast to fish with buddy. You and Glenn give me the energy and enthusiam to really keep going and jigging fast all day long. Whether it's talking trash and calling my fish a largemouth bass, getting me pumped to keep me jigging faster and faster or just dancing like Party Guy from Jackass to techno music (in your head)... you make the day hilarious and fun. Thanks for everything again man.

Doug - You witty mofo I was glad to meet a new friend of this forum and especially since all I ate for my 7.5 hour trip back home was deer flesh. Actually, I don't even have anymore sticks... can you hook your yankee korean brother up Damn that stuff is good! Great job on jigging up that big FAT AJ man. Congrats. That's right at the 90-100lb mark. Hope to wet a line with you next time

Fred - You are a beast my man. I hope to fish with you next time. I'm glad you got your biggest AJ to date on this trip. It's stuff like that which makes all of the coordinating and long-typed reports worth it I had my personal best on this trip as well and can't wait until I get another chance to break it

Brian - You are a great guy and loved seeing you call your jig drops. Just amazing man. I gotta come hit up some rigs with you down in the gulf some day. And we'll hit up a TaTa bar next time you hilarious bastard haha. I love it man. Or we could just throw dollars at the girls at Hooters .... or we could go to Korea and get in trouble

Some more memorable shots
"It's a small fish"................. Glenn couldn't move his Blue Rose from this position for a while after those words were said

A little pain in the facial expression...a little sweat on the brow.... Dave must be hooked upto an AJ

Day one....the man on the mission...

And now...all of my gear is back inside my room and sitting in their cases and bags...ready for the next trip. Until next time...I'll be re-stocking a few things and getting ready to spend another fine weekend in the great city of Wilmington, NC to face them "Godzilla Reef Donkeys" once again with good friends as well as more new faces. I will wait anxiously until I see that boat launch again at 5AM and see all those stars in the sky. Everytime I look up and see "Orion" ... I will remember the day that would live in infamy amongst us jiggers...forever. Amen.

Thanks for the compliments man. I can't get enough of NC baby! I would love to write for a magazine! That would be really cool. All of those guys you mentioned as well as Arlen, Zack and Stu are just a bunch of class acts. Great company and friends that I look foward to meeting everytime I go down. I didn't speak with Capt. Mike much, but any friend of Sami's is a friend of mine We will definitely be coming back again...and again and again for more punishment. Maybe sooner than you think
