    Jig Styles/Sizes

Just started getting interested in this jigging technique, had a chance to try it out a few weeks ago with no luck. Being still new to it all, what are any recommendations regarding jig styles/sizes, etc (i.e., knife jigs, butterfly jigs, etc.)?
Will be trying off coast of NC (Morehead City/Beaufort), so if any of you from that area have any input, it would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

start with a few hammered dia jigs 6-8oz
the OTI in jager, jumbo are nice in the 200-300g size
most of the jigs you use will be mid or bottom weighted
they give good drop and flutter
there are also top weighted jigs..such as the jackal and a few others
they really go side to side more than the others
a very important thing when jigging is the depthfinder line
it will keep your jig in the strike zone..
most of the better jigging guys use PE JIGGING LINE..colorcoded every 25ft for ease of reading depth
