    Jig Storage

Hey everyone looking for a great way to store jigs, but still easy to get at them for a quick change. Right now I am using a soft side drink cooler!! Any Ideas?? Thanks Mark

the large shimano jig bag works pretty darn good, i use it for all of my shorter jigs. for the long jigs, i was given the advise to use a wrench roll, and it works well.

    I use a plastic 3 gallon bucket.

You can get them at Home depot or Lowes over in the painting supplies. I take a jig saw, cut me about 6, 1 inch deep by 2 inch wide "V"s, spaced equally along the perimeter of the bucket. Then I drill 4 or 5 1/4" holes in the bottom for drainage.

The bucket is deep enough that even long 450gram jigs will fit, and is fairly compact. The holes are so you can hit it with the fresh water hose at the end of the day and your done.

I sort my jigs by weight mostly, sometimes by brand, them by hook styles (always got a few sea bsss jigs in my bucket).

I also use a wrap, but only for my seabass jigs- they really only get used on bottom fishing trips in the winter.

Do the jigs bounce off each other in the bucket arrangement? Seems like they would and wreck the paint before a fish has the chance to?

Sea Draggin Could be a good product. I could use two jig bags that would hold 50 jigs each!! Mark

that, and i dunno about the rest of you guys, but i don't store my jigs with hooks or anything on them, i usually keep the solid ring/swivel, hook and split ring on my line and just swap out jigs. i do however like to retie after every few fish.

Sea draggin... no they dont bounce, not at least that Ive seen anyways. Ive only been using that set up for a few trips, but i havent noticed any chips or anything.

Ill get a pic when I get home tomarrow.

I picked up a few wraps off ebay a few years back- I actually bought them for the dolphin feather jigs that were in them. Turns out the feathers were junk, but the wraps were pretty nice. The only problem I have with them is they see to hold moisture and cause things to rust before they should. But if you had a way to keep them dry, there right on the money!
