    JIG ROD COMPONENTS

there are alot of good choices available for us to use.
fuji has japan and US version.
we use both on rods we make.

    Rings..
the Sic has been a 'standard" good ring to use.
there is the SIN..which if looking for a better price in a rod..they work well..but usually have a heavier frame.
the alconite are another good choice.
    all good choices from fuji,

fuji ti spin ringsJIG ROD COMPONENTS-307dflash3-004.jpg

fuji also have a special color frame. this is new.
and now have 2 frame material types to choose from SS and brass..along with ti.

    Titanium frame tips and guides.
which are now available in US. (limited sizes)

and are coming out with a few new Ti models..KWSG

american tackle, also offer Ti guides and nanonite rings.JIG ROD COMPONENTS-tuna-jigger...jpg
which have been very nice for guys wanting titanium frames on rods.
they have a few new heavier models, which have been working well.
the turbo frame TITAN have been very nice. for trolling/ heavier rods.

these titanium frames will make the rod lighter.
and add a little to the cost..not really that much.

alot of good choices for guides..

    anything else new out there?

The next bite on a jig.
I will leave the guide choice up to you. As long as its not Batson, then I'm OK with whatever you pick.

Paul, what is the advantage of using titanium framed guides? I haven't had a problem with the durability of any of the guides I have used.

Titanium Guides are stronger which allows less material, stronger, lighter, and the best part is it will never ever rust. The trouble is the price.

Gotcha, do you think they save even an ounce over regular guides though, for the whole set obviously? They are pricy though

    Mitch.
    they are lighter,
maybe i will break out the scale later.

the all-american rollers weigh less than 1.5 oz a set

and do add a little extra cost to the rods.
but some guys just have to have them.

i have had trouble with a few Ti guides.
but i think the problem is fixed..but i am still a little gun shy to use them.

Paul did you have rings falling out? That is the only trouble I had but that was years ago.

Personally I feel the Japanese components that you mentioned are better than the US models.
