I knew it! The jigas are now using bait! It was only a matter of time.

Congrats Danny, great report as usual. Was that in Mexico? How deep was the water?

Bring some of that fancy gear to Carolina soon. Now that you have overcome your bait aversion, it's time for you to meet some of our small yet nasty groupers!

Cheers,
SeaBiscuit

Awesome man, they are powerful fish. We see them cruising when tarpon fishing in the keys. We only managed to catch a 25lber off land and it was a blast to watch. The rods are looking sweet.
Keep the reports coming!

Thanks all for the kind words everyone!

Nick- you caught me red handed brother A great grouper fisherman told me one time that grouper can't pass up a little snack right in front of their faces, and since I had limited time to get it done yesterday I decided to give it a shot...now if I could only remember who it was that told me that

I actually had a heavy duty assist hook crimped on and used the standard split ring to add a jig from time to time. In this case it wasn't going to be productive as we anchored pretty far up current of the wreck to try to draw those big boys out- if my 200# fish came calling I wanted to have a shot at stopping it before it could get back in. Make no mistake about it though, once I get my 200 on bait...I'm going to figure out a way to get a 200 on a jig

Thanks again for all the kind words everyone, I truly appreciate it.

Bait Strong...

I wish I could come up with a way to use the word prowess in a sentence right now.
Excellent report brother Dan. Thanks!
As usual I'm jealous.
