The next bite on a jig.

    Introduction Thread

Everyone pretty much knows me, but I'm Jim. I fish all over Carolina, depending on the time of year, and whats biting where.

I sold my Grady White last year, so I'm a free spirit floating from port to port. I'm letting others take me for a while.

After years of riding around in circles, I found the joy of a vicious jig bite. Although I'm not selling my gold reels anytime soon, they rarely come out now.

My goals for the near future outside NC are a Venice/Gulf trip and I am planning a jigging trip to Texas next year.

CUSTOM ROD AND CUSTOM GAFF BUILDER
Hi, my name is Kevin and I am an offshore-aholic. I live in Maryland and fish the Mid-Atlantic for pelagics. Im a custom rod builder and have been for 26 years. I have been here for a while now and kinda just jumped in. I spend a lot of my time on the rod building page as thats what I can contribute the most, but its not the busiest of pages, as you can imagine. I look forward to meeting all of you guys at some point as I already have met a hand full thus far.

This forum has been a little quiet lately. The weather has not been very kind to us lately. I called Zack yesterday complaining that I have some vacation to use and can't seem to get a window of ice cream weather to use it.

Cool. Your CC will be great for there. There's a lot of community numbers there. More live bottom in 5 square miles there than all of Morehead put together.

Matt from Washington, NC. I started offshore fishing when I was a little boy in Hatteras Village. I think it was bailing Dolphin with hand-lines that got me hooked! My family has had a home there for around 20 years and I have lived there several summers throughout high-school and college. We are between boats at the moment, but will be ready for the spring bite in a new 32' Custom Carolina Express. I can't wait!

    SFC is a great site!

    Hi, I am Paul,
An Avid fisherman and Custom rodbuilder.
Vice President of the Tri-State Custom Rodbuilders.
    And also JPR RODS.
And of course a SFC supporter.

I have been fishing nearly 45 years, started in the sweetwater of PA.
Lakes and Streams for Bass and trout.

And do most of my fishing now on the East Coast In the Salt offshore, inshore and the bays.
I have fished from NewEngland for Cod, Mid-Atlantic states for Grouper, AJ, billfish, And most other species that swim.

Also had the pleasure of fishing the Great Lakes for Salmon, Lakers, Trout.

The pursuit of Billfish and tuna has taken me to Venezuela for a little more excitement.

All these Journeys have helped me in the rodbuilding business.
How and why rods work, And are used.

    Next year.
I do hope to get to the Gulf coast for some oil rig fishing.
And possibly to PV for some Tuna fun.

I have Displayed rods and had “mini” Jig talks at the Somerset show in NJ.

I have done Jigging seminars for the RFA and Penn-Jersey anglers.
Promoting Jigging is a passion for me.

But I am not limited to just jigging, I still love the thrill of seeing a bill come up in a spread, or the ZZZZ of a chunk rod going off. Anything that will catch fish.

I have met and fished with A LOT of you guys here, and hope to meet and fish with many more in the coming years.

    Support the site.
    And thanks for having me.
