Hi my name is Matt. I grew up fly fishing for trout, salmon, stripers and blues in NH and have since been transported to various places by the USMC. I tie flies and am now starting to build my first rod. I lived in Swansboro, NC for the past 2.5 years where I got the bluewater bug and started trolling, jigging, and live baiting. I also use the long rod out there every now and then.

I recently moved to Quantico, VA, but try to get bck to NC for some awesome fishing when I can. My old fishing buddies from NH loved o come down in December for some of the best fishing long after the ski slopes opened up north! I've met some great people on this forum and find myself day dreaming on this site too much!

I am a Tanker by trade, but am now training the next generation of USMC officers here in Quantico for a couple years. Back to trout and stripers for now!

    Ok I'll bite.
My name is Travis, and I have a problem. I can't get enough fishing....EVER. My passion is jigging and popping but I started out in the sweet water bassin and walleye fishing. I got into fly fishing which in turn my mentor was a salt head fly fishermen. I later dabbed into tuna fishing on the fly. After many years of salting and boating and learning how to troll, chunck, and just plain old fish I learned how to jig. Its been non stop ever since.

Hobbies are making rods, lures, even my own blanks I am working on now. I love to try to make something better.

Areas fished have been the entire east coast from Maine to Key West on both land and boat, to canada, mexico, texas, and inner states as well.

SO now you know a little about me, and I can now admit I have problems!!

This year I have fish less than ever before.

I did walk out in the garage this evening and just picked up a jigging rod to see how it felt.

    Sad but true.

My name is Cassidy and I wish I would've come up with a much cooler fishing related screen name when I joined this site...the initials and last name are nothing more than lame. Aliases like "Sea-Draggin" and "jig42na"....way cooler!

I'm originally from northern Wisconsin but now split my time between Atlanta, GA and the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. I learned the angling basics at a young age on bluegills, bass and pike...but it was trout and salmon on the fly that really developed my passion for fishing. Even to this day a chromed out steelhead smashing a swung fly is the ultimate rush, although watching big nasty cubreras destroy big nasty poppers has rapidly rising stock...

For work I develop and sell vacation properties and homes in Costa Rica...check out my current project www.sierpedelpacifico.com.

Fortunately for me, sharing and promoting the fishing opportunities down here is a big part of the sales process...lots of good fishing = lots of good business...for that I am blessed.

I've only really been fishing saltwater regularly for a year now and jigging and popping for about 6 months, but I'm completely commited to it and consider these techniques to be the ultimate way to connect to a fish. Costa Rica's sailfish season is about to come into full swing, but unless there are some marlin or large YFT around I'll stick to the reefs...although tossing poppers to sails intrigues me. I did just purchase an 11 weight as well...

I'm always down with extending my worldwide fishing and hunting network...starting conversations and making friends allowed me to pursue sea-run browns in Argentina, tarpon in CR, peacock bass in Panama, and red stag and wild trout in New Zealand when I was backpacking the world on a backpacker's budget. If you're in southern CR hit me up...I'm always down to share a day on my water.

Costa Rica has trout as well
