    Inshore Costa Rica Plugging

This past week we have been focusing mostly on inshore and it has been very good. We have been getting plenty of pargo, jacks and snapper off the rocks. The roosterfishing has been hit or miss with fish up 25 lbs. Believe it or not many schools of dorado have moved in just off Cabo Matapalo rock. We have landed them as big as thirty pounds (Not see here unfortunetly)just outiside the bay. We also had the suprise of catching a sail only a mile off the beach. Diffinetly not the norm. Sailfishing has slowed a little but should pick up with the change in moons.

You must be the same person I talked before my trip to Los Suenos, Costa Rica during Christmas Holidays.
Thanks for the info and advices. If I go back again, I like to fish in Puerto Jimenez. It looks Mrbill had a great time with you. I tried to fish from the shore around Los Suenos, but they wouldn't allow me to cast at the entrance of the Harbor of Los Suenos for security reason and I didn't want fish outside Los Suenos complex for security reason too.

I am leaving for Panama for jigging and popping tomorrow. At least I don't have to worry about security in Panama while fishing.

Hi Kil. Yeap the same person. Mr Bill had a lot of fun. He didn't get his tuna on the popper but still got some great fishing. Good luck in Panama!

Thanks for your advice for my Costa Rica trip.
Even though you warned me, I lost my GPS in a car parked at 5 star mariott Hotel at Los Suenos on the first night we arrived. I didn't know one window was open. When I visited Manuel Antonio National Park a few guys wearing bands stopped us and guided to park sideways. I thought all parking space were full. They asked us to pay four dollars even we parked sideway of the road. We immediately found out they cheated us and had to walk one kilometer to the gate. When I tried to fish near Paritta River mouth, I saw several local guys picking up from a trunk of a car which was apparently didn't belong to them. I just went back to my car and left.

Based on MrBill's reports, it looks fishing is pretty good in Puerto Jimenez and the area is still unspoiled.
He said local people are very nice and there is no concern of crime or stealing.

No problem on the advice. Anytime! Sorry to hear about the GPS. Things grow legs quickly down there esp. Quepos area. Our are is pretty unspoiled and very safe, but I would always becareful anyway. You never know, no matter where you are in the world, if someone wants to ruin your day. I am very glad Mr bill had a great time. It is an awesome place. And, great customer. The crew loved him and his wife. The fishing overall this year has been great! Hope to see you down soon! By the way the boat next to us had a 160lbs. yellowfin yest. perfect for jigging.
