Incredible Jigging Monster Panama

Hello here's a Video of my little brother using a spining reel for jigging, Terrible mistake, we used a 300g jig from shimano. and a monster fish bite the jig. My little brother gave the rod to my uncle and the big fish destroyed the 60 pound test line braid from power pro, with a 100 pound flourocarbon.

Bye here's the video...

Best Catch: The next bite on a jig.
I can recommend diawa boat braid and tufline XP as both being good lines.

It looks like there was a lot of drag on there for 60lb line, but I wasn't there to see for myself. I would imagine that the failure was due more to drag/drag maintenance, than to line strength.

Thank you for sharing your video, keep them coming.

To be honest I think the line broke because the drag was too tight. I could be wrong, but from the looks of it the rod is bobbing up and down because the fish is pulling and it has no where to go in addition he isn't reeling so there is a lot of stress on the line/leader connection.

Just what I see when i view it, like i said i could be wrong but when a rod is stressing like that and line isnt coming out that usually means drag isnt moving

Post M2C's

I started fishing with braid (spider wire) when it debut about 22-23 years ago and have never looked back I started using tough line XP about 4yrs ago when I was shopping at bass pro and bought A 1200yrd buld spool of 65lb.I have just used up the 1200yrd spool just A few weeks ago and keep in mind that I have been spooled 3 jigging rods and have also spooled A few of my friends outfits thats how long this stuff lasts. It is quite impessive.I have used 80lb power pro on all my heavy jigging tackle with no problems and have caught fish to 160-170lb class and have lost fish much bigger as the 80lb flouro leader did not hold up to the task.So my feelings on this is the pp is just as good as the others.
