how do you set up your jigs

hello to you all jigging enthusiasts, this is a rookie jigger question, do you attach the jig directly to the fluorucarbon leader with a knot in the solid ring or do you use a swivel at the end of the fluorucarbon leader and attach the jigs at the swivel. my primary medim for fishing is in my kayak and always attach the jigs to the swivel because it seems simple to change them in case i need to. What you think about it.

I think you are going to find this is a personal preference question. I like the idea of the swivel with respect to line twist, etc... But I like the action on the jigs better without so my setup is flouro > solid ring > split ring > jig. The one other reason I like this setup better is that it allows each assist hook to be matched to the length of the jig its on. If I go from a longer to shorter jig with a swivel and just swap the jig out then the hook could end up being as long as the jig, etc... If i had the money I would just put swivels on all my jigs and that would be the end of it

I use a ball bearing swivel knotted to my leader, then attach that to the jig with a split ring.

I get too much line twist without a swivel.

    huh?
I tie directly to solid ring always. Simpler and fewer things to fail.

The next bite on a jig.
When jigging with a spinning reel, the swivel arrangement will help with line twist. However with conventionals, you don't get the twist with most jigs so you can tie to the solid ring.

... and you don't get line twist with a spinner if you stop cranking when line's being pulled out against the drag.
