    How big are these AJ's?

I just got into jigging within the past year where I live and work on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. My clients, friends and I have been catching alot of big Amberjack. I've got local captains telling me they've never seen them this big around here before...no one has ever jigged before as well!

It's a small town and no one has a scale...and I'm not about to ask the grocery store owner If I can lay a big slimey, bloody AJ on her scale. Does anyone have any estimates as to the size of these guys. I'm 6'2", 175 lbs., if that helps at all as a reference. I think the last one was the biggest given it's girth.

Also, anyone know what the WR is on Pacific AJ? There are very few charter boats here and long-liners are prohibited from fishing these reefs because of National Park perimeters. I'm pretty sure a record fish or two are down there.

How big are they? Big enough that I don't want to be on the other end of the line.

Nice Ajs. I'd venture there around 100lbs. The top photo looks more around 80-90 but its hard to tell from pics.

Those jacks sure put a huting on you making it tough to hold them up after the catch.
