Hi all,
It seems this rod has been discontinued, I can't find one anywhere, what would be the best alternative to this rod?
Thanks.
Hi all,
It seems this rod has been discontinued, I can't find one anywhere, what would be the best alternative to this rod?
Thanks.
i believe they discontinued the rod because there was a fair amount of breakage,
right now there is a lot option in the market,
if you can wait for another week or so we are introducing a new Japanese line of fishing rods that are really hard to get in Japan it self, the price will be more or less affordable for the US market,
you can PM if you are interested.
there are probably a few great choices.
have you used the rod?
what did you like about it?
what are you looking for in a rod?
there are a few blanks avail with the parabolic action, and light weight.
there are some blanks a little heavier with great power, and good parabolic action.
i hear there are some new blanks out, but i havent seen them yet so i cant really tell how they will be.
Next year there will be alot of new blanks form alot of companys.
Getting a chance to handle/test/build/fish/ will be a big help
to make decisions on these.
I hope to have some feed back as soon as i see them
Sami, do you have a new site yet?
Okay hear's the deal, I fish in the Philippines, always jigging, have hooked a few very big un's but my gear at the time let me down.
So, I now have a Daiwa Saltiga SA Z6500 (not the high speed one) and a Shimano Stella SW20000, problem is now I believe I need the rods to go with them as at present I have 2 Calster GFGR-760L rods rated 30 - 80lbs. They are not too bad but become hard work on a 12hr shift!
I was using GMan's guide to try & find a proper jigging rod that would suit the reels.
I got a rod in Hong Kong recently (can't remember the make, it is a Japan model) but when I use it for jigging the whole thing rocks side to side! The Calster's do not do this, so now this is my wife's new rod.
What causes the rocking from side to side while you are jigging a jig? I am terrified of paying 500-600 for a rod I cannot try only to find out it does the same!
Cheers,
Ian.
First, I would get two different weight rods and put the saltiga on the lighter rod and SW on the heavier. Maybe a 300-400g rod for your lighter and 500-600g rod for your heavier, since all your jigging is deep because of the dynamite.
Your rod that is rocking. Is the reel seat turning? You may be able to fix it by injecting some epoxy.

Hot's make great rods but i don't believe the 48xxh is made up to target monster fish.
we have from the past couple of 48xxh broken in the shop,
that is when we use to carry the Hot's line, not any more.
if you are interested in the Hot's line you should email Kil.
once the site is open we will be able to ship worlwide, but in the mean time we are shipping for our steady customer,
thanks for their support![]()
