horrible bahamas trip almost ends badly

Headed to west end, Bahamas today. 25 miles from port of entry my buddy looks at the back of his boat and the back is coming off where his bracket for the motors are. took on a ton of water on and turned around for west palm. Had to take it slow or good by motors and boat. Very scarry had the life boat out and epirb ready to go. Luckly made it back but the boat is done. It is a old 28ft mako dual console. I was so excited to try my new jigs out I guess I will have to leave some grouper for next time, pic below and now I am just happy made it home safe. He is looking for old hull to move all his stuff over if anyone as a suggestion of a good place to look just for hulls let me know.

    Motors fell off

Well my buddy kept hitting his head on the wire from the come along that was holding the motors on. He was worried the motor
would come off going down highway on the way home so he used come along to help keep them on boat. so he took it off because boat was on side of house and thought it would be fine. He just called me and motors came off last night , I really feel lucky to not have been floating around out there. Thank you lord. If I stop by his place I will need to get pics of his Suzuki 250 4 stokes on the ground , it is horrible

Wow glad I saw this... Seems those lures are bad luck like yellow monkey food (I don't even say the word)... Glad I know now so I can keep people from bringing them aboard my boat...

If he was trying to cross in that slop the other he kinda had it comming. Lucky that they didn't rop in place...

You saw no signs of trouble before you left? That transom...to use that word loosely(pun intended)... was fawked before it ever left the dock. I too am glad nobody woke up dead this trip.

after the fact he told me he saw some stress cracks but he did not think it was to bad. It has been a great boat for us may she rest in peace. By this time next week you will see some banner ads from me. I sent an email to find out about banner ads on the site but have not gotten response yet I am sure I will hear somthing by Monday. It is good that you stand up for a great place to share ideas and learn from each other. Seems like a great place to spend money for advertising.

Wow, that boat must have had some very wet stringers and transom. Incredible it wasn't noticed before.

BTW, those are some cool looking jigs.
