    help with bass set-up

looking for some advice on a vertical jig set-up for stripers. i am now using a abu 6500 big game on a tsumani rod rated for 1-6 oz. I think that it works fine but was thinking of buying a couple more combo's. should i stick with the connvential or go to spinning? when out fishing i am the only guy running the connvential, am i missing something? i can see 10-20 boats off and on and everyone is using spin. what are the advantges?

what would be a good set-up for spin gear (say $300 range)

    thanks

Striper64, I have been jigging stripers for a long time. I used to use tackle similar to yours. However, I now use the Shimano Trevala rods. It has become my favorite way to fish for them.

You should be able to find a decent combo for around $300. Spinning or conventional will work. Just use what you like best.

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

    I have a 6' 3" Trevala F casting rod with a Curado 300 and 40# braid and a 6' 9" spinner with a Spheros 4000 and 30#.
