I'm going with the Trinidad 40n special for you. Good reel with double dogs. Trick out the drags (otherwise they quickly start sounding like a chihuahua that you stepped on) lock it down and rock and roll.

Will the Trinidad come out of the box beefy enough to handle these fish? I don't want to have to start changing drags.....I want something out of the box ready to roll!! What about the Alutecnos Gorilla's?

Yes, the alutecnos come out of the box ready to go and I can get them for you. However I didn't recommend them as I thought they may have been over your budget at $600 as you described your original parameters.
