Not yet, but as soon as enough people want to go we'll pick a date that is well in far enough advance for people to plan on it.
Also thinking that to reserve a spot we need a deposit or CC number to hold it. If you back out within 24 hours of the trip, you will be charged. Obviously if we're blown out or there are other issues a deposit refund will be made and CC numbers will not be used.
This is shaping up to be something special. Mike Pederson of Riley Rods has offered to build several sets of his rods matched with reels, line, etc. for anyone wanting to try jigging for the first time or just wanting to see first hand how good these rods really are. Of course you're still welcome to bring your own stuff as well. This isn't just for the guys who have all the tackle. This is now available for the guys and gals who have wanted to give jigging a try, but haven't had the chance to give it a shot. I understand that some people will have to travel, but what makes this a bit different is the size of the boat. We'll still be able to fish when a lot of small boats can't. Here's what we've come up with so far.
1. Trip date is shaping up for Tuesday August 11th.
2. Price is $200/pp cash or $215/pp if payed for by credit card.
3. High end jigging tackle will be available or use your own stuff.
4. Reservations are required. Reservations will be held with a $100 deposit or credit card number. If trip is cancelled due to weather or any other circumstances determined by the captain, a full refund of deposit will be made and credit card number will not be used. This trip needs a minimum of 15 people and a maximum of 20. This is why reservations need to be made. You are more than welcome to use the credit card number to hold the reservation and then pay cash the morning of the trip. If you do not show, your credit card will be charged.
If there are any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me at captjohn86@yahoo.com, PM me here, or at 1(910) 934-2628.
Tuesday, Friday would have worked much better. I have to miss 2 days from work![]()
I am in. Do we call the Vonda Kay to make deposit?
I have not fished on a "headboat" in years and look forward to not having to be the "windlass",swabbie or mechanic.
Just jigging and eating!!
Any reservations are going through me right now. You can PM me for the address to send the deposit or PM me your full name and CC number to hold your spot on the boat. You can call Dave who owns the Vonda Kay at 1(910) 545-3474 for any more questions if you like. He asked me to handle the reservations though.
Had several people sign up already and the trip isn't until August. This trip is gonna be fun.
We're half full as of now guys. If you want in on this it's time to step up. There will also be a professional film crew on board shooting the whole thing. Here's a quote from Capt. Mike of Riley Rods......
"Riley Rods Pro Staff will be on hand to help. We'll be giving a Jigging 101 on the ride out and slaying fish with you guys the whole trip. I'll have about a dozen complete set-ups for people that do not have gear but would still like to join in. $200 is a bargain and more than likely the boat is heading out so you can make plans."
