After a few minutes of this we pulled the planers and dropped the jigs. I got a handful of OTI jigs from Paul on here as well as some Williamson jigs and they all seemed to both work well. As soon as we started jigging we began catching and getting cut off by sharks. I pulled up a shark on a jig around 7ft. long on my new JM 450 and 18000 saragosa combo (this thing is a beast!). We began catching lots of albies, a few jacks, and huge sharks but no tuna. After about an hour we moved to the southern end of the rocks and began catching some nice blackfins and again lots of albies. We ended the day with 9 Blackfins and prolly 30-40 false albecore, some jacks, and two big sharks released at boatside. This was our first attempt at jigging besides catching amberjacks at the tower out of oregon inlet. Back at the dock by 3:30 and weighed in 2 blackfin citations at 23 and 24lbs. Can't wait to do it again.
do you remember what OTI jigs you used?
there is alot of interest coming form down there. for jigs and stuff.
