    grouper jigging technique

How do you jig for just bottom species like grouper, snapper, triggers? I am trying to target them more this year. i have a few new jigs i want to try out and wanted to see if anyone could help. Below are the jigs i have seen in most reports catching these.

    gold 8 oz hammered

    Roscoe jig

    Pot Roast

    Thank you

The next bite on a jig.
Regardless of the type of jig you use (all that you mentioned are good) the main element of your technique is to maintain contact contact with the bottom on every down stroke.

So lift, drop, hit bottom, lift again. If you are coming close, that isn't good enough in my opinion. You need to make contact continuously. Thats why the star drag reels are good for this, because you can flip the switch and let out 8" if needed, without having to pull the level back (which really isn't to bad) the switch is just faster.

I agree with Sea Draggin, for some reason grouper like it on the bottom or on the drop back to the bottom.
