    MChi,
If those reels are on back order, go with the Schimano 18000's. You won't be sorry.

Keep in mind shimano put millions of dollers into research and development of thier products (and with a lifetime warranty) rest assured they aint puttin no junk on the shelves
With that said I would love to try a custom like a JPR or a smiths or a blue rose but right now the ol shimano is gettin her dun
Shimano's will get the job done no doubt, when you start getting into tuna above 180lbs look out! That Bullshark must have been cool as heck. There are other alternatives out there around the same price, hopper and Diawa come to mind. I have owned a JPR "Budjet" and it was lighter and had more arse to it than my xxh trevala.

You call yourself a fishermen, but don't know what rod would match up with a saragosa 18000

First off, I think we can all agree that the term "friggin' asshat" is pretty funny.

Secondly, I have a saragosa 18000 on both a trevala XXH and an OTI 400. Both work well enough for the waters I fish and catch their share....that said, neither has the ideal combination of finesse on 200 gram jigs that I desire and supreme lifting power for 100 lb. almacos that I need. I will end up buying another rod. Sea Draggin's jigging rod selection guide covers all the important factors to consider.

I will attest to shimano's warranty though....they've now twice replaced a trevala M that clients high-sticked the hell out of on back to back trips.
