    Good cod jigging in MA

I arranged a cod jigging charter with 29 die-hard cod jig fishermen on the Walsh's out of Lynn, Ma yesterday and We had an excellent cod jigging including 71 lbs by Capt Tim Tower of the Bunny Clark and 62 lbs cod by Bob Nixon. We drifted all day and nobody touched baits.

Thats cool. Kilsong, can you explain a little about that fishing for us down south that have never done it.

-How far out do you go
    -How deep is the water
-I'm guessing the fish taste good

We run about 40 miles and fished 200 ft -250 ft.
Cod was stable food in Europe and Basque fishermen found America before Columbus and they fished in Grand Bank off Canan secretely.

Lots of really cool pics Kilsong. I had no idea Cod grew so large! How do they compare on the table to other fish like SeaBass, Tiles, or Grouper for instance.

The black fish above is my favorite. Is this a Wolffish? How big do they get? They look like the last thing on earth you want attatched to your fingers.
    Thanks for the cool report.

Thumbs up Kil again thanks for the invite on this trip!

It was A once in A lifetime trip with A bunch of good guys. And A captain and crew that would, after our trip be considered second to none! From the time he put us on the spot and called lines down it was exceptional all day until we left!As soon as the fish stopped biting on the drift he called lines up and moved from A spot. Not wanting to waste time on unproductive ground. It was capt.Tims personal best others that he caught where in the 65lb range this was over 71lbs and hes been A capt in Maine for his whole life! I was happy to be on this trip to see what cod fishing is all about but wont expect another one like this anytime soon if ever.
