Gman, another fine piece of work! Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any issues using the swivel you noted on a swim bait? I was wondering if it would tend to force the nose down?

On smaller swimbaits for Mahi I wont use it but I have never had any issues with it on regular sized swimbaits

Gman, great post.

Everything around here has teeth, do you ever use wire leaders for casting?

Stick Bait

HOW TO CHOOSE A STICKBAIT: Generally I choose an angled nose stickbait because this shape tends to make the most commotion while fatter stickbaits like the Squid Pen tend to make more of a darting wobble effect. Depending on how it is weighted also depicts the action.

COLORS: Unlike poppers stickbaits are made to mimic real baitfish therefore I tend to like the longer models that are very similar to the local baitfish such as FLYING FISH & Sardine.

GMAN,

who makes the mackeral looking stick bait featured?

Great read by the way...

sorry I never even saw your response the makeral stickbait is made by craftbait a very famous lure maker in Japan. They work extremely well for GT's and tuna but are crazy expensive at over $75 per lure. I cringe every time I use it lol luckily I got mine in a classified last year for half that price

Jigging + popping presentation

Hi there! I'm new to this site and just wanted to thank you for sharing the info. Good stuff!!! I'm an avid fisherman from Cape Cod and starting to get back into the "tuna craze!" I'm just learning how to use this site so bear with me for now. I'm looking forward to digging deeper and chatting with you guys now + then, especially when the season kicks off. For now , it's a great time to prep + gear up!
