    Gman Question for you

I just ordered a water proof / submersable casing for my video camera. Your shark catch on the jig was my final motivation for this purchase.

My question is how did they have the case attached to the pole they put in the water?

I hope to have it here in time for the jig-a-thon in MHC this weekend. Looking for some better views in my movies.

I didnt own that underwater camcorder Anuvat does, but from what I know it was a submersable camcorder that didnt need any casing so he had a telescopic pole directly attached to it

I will have him chime in for you

It was actually a Sanyo Exacti E2 waterproof camcorder. It's very affordable at about $200, I've lost quite a few camcorders to the saltwater. If this one ever breaks I won't be so sorry.

I actually fabricated my own monopod. There are a few out on the market but I could not find one that had a platform that would tilt 180* to make it possible to take the video right side up(actually there was one but it was way over $400). So I picked up this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16830997069 for $15. Then I found an old broken tripod I had in my storage and removed the tilting platform which only tilted 90*, tore it apart, flipped it half way upside down, and made it so that it would flip the 180* that I needed. Then I drilled a hole and attached it to the monopod's handle (which has a male screw head) with ALOT of epoxy just to be sure. I then ripped off the foam handle that came with the monopod since that handle part will now be submerged in water and it would only weigh it down when wet. Here's what it finally looked like:

I also just found a few on B&H's site, don't know if they tilt the entire 180* though:

Thanks a ton. I'm sure I will be able to put something together. I'll wait to get my case it does have a tri-pod attachment so I think I will be able to do something like yours.

I loved the footage you took, and the underwater just adds a new veiwpoint.
