I would have more confidence in that than boat braid. For jigging, the 4 carrier is probably OK and I know its stronger. For popping casting, I would would want the 8 carrier, but not color coded.

I'm a big fan of the Daiwa PE. I've caught yellowfin, bluefin, grouper, snapper, rooster, jacks, etc popping and jigging with it and haven't had any issues with the line. I've fished PE4, PE5, and PE6 and find the line to be very supple. It knots well also. It's a great line that I can't say a bad thing about.

    Dan,
I had the chance to compare Daiwa Boat Braid with
Daiwa Samuri Braid side by side last weekend.

I didn't realize it, but it is exactly the same line. However the boat braid has the waxy color lock coating on it for the multicolor that makes it stiffer.

The samuri braid is the bare naked line which makes it much softer and more flexible. However they are exactly the same in weave and diameter. I always thought the samuri was thinner, but it is not.

Yup.... exactly the same line. I, personally, think it is the best braid out there. It is soft, small in diameter, knots well, and casts a country mile!!!
