    Looks like a spring to me. We have a lot of those in the area. Good report. You need to get back out there in the next week or 2, there is a big push of blue water coming over the steps now, heading east.

    i havnt had much grouper luck off these springs - i think maybe if you could drop a jig INTO the actual spring you might get grouper hanging inside the lip, etc... but i dont think i have the anchoring skill required to pull that off... or sidescan sonar... hahaha

    thanks! this was when i thought catching a wahoo on a jig was pretty much the biggest deal ever. and i still believe thats a fish of a lifetime for my friend, but since i have seen a bunch of guys catch hoo on jig, so kinda makes it less of a big deal. but thank you - one of my fondest memories of a fishin day
