Had a couple guys John and Ed come down from NJ for 1 day of jigging in Wilmington before heading to the outer backs for Bluefin. The weather was NW and slightly more than the forecast as usual. Started in 140 feet and found the AJs after a couple drifts but it was obvious we would have to work for the fish today. Caught a few fish in the morning but no big boys. Went to 200 feet and no life, the same area a week ago we caught everything. Moved out to the deep drop and started catching AJs and Almacos. It looks like the larger fish are breeding now because the small juveniles are in the normal spots. We did get into a good Blackfin bite and boated a couple nice fish but the sharks were hungry and took a lot of fish. Ed landed a nice 125 lb Dusky. Ended the day in 140 feet and since we didn't catch the normal quantity of AJs John made it up with quality. He landed the largest AJs of the spring so far this year 58 inches X 37 Inches estimates close to 100 lbs. The next drift we had double header of a 50 lb AJ and a 35 plus lb Jack Cravelle (the 1st we have caught). A good way to end the day. Thanks to John and Ed for fishing hard they had to work for every fish. Hopefully things will get back to normal in a couple days.

    NICE AJ's!

It was cool seeing you guys on the water about a week ago Mr. Jackson. We where the ice blue yellowfin that David Chang was on with us.

Looks like you guys had a pretty decent day! I hate to hear about the shark, sounds like they are still out there because when we where out there we had some AJ's get eaten in half. We hooked one and there turned out to be a bunch of big bulls sharks under the boat making food of everything we pulled up. Lucky for us we werent in the tuna.

Maybe someday we could fish together! hope to see you soon!
