Fishing Report Deep Jigging 12-31-2010

Loaded up the boat with my son David and the guys to spend the last day of 2010 off shore in flat seas and deep jigging. It was a cold ride out because of the 49 degree water in shore but down to t-shirts at the break in 70 degree water. The AJs are still there and getting meaner as the water temps are lowers. Couldn't find the schools of the large Black fin but plenty of small Tuna (good eating). Rob felt the pain with the largest AJ on the smallest set up. Torque 10 with a light action rod. Nice 75 lb fish. We also found a few nice grouper for the last day of the season. (Scamps and Reds) Jammie had the very fat 20 plus lb Red. It has been a great year and looking forward to the 2011 season. Hope the guys in the NE have defrosted and dug out from the snow. Come on down to NC when the weatherman gives us another break.

Very nice Mike. First time I have ever seen Rob S look like he got his ass kicked.
Glad to hear the fish are out there. Cant wait until the next decent day.

Wow, love the pic on the pinned jigger! Great pics. Always nice when you see someone posing with their catch and behind them another guy locked into battle. Great trip, nice variety, and fatty Red.
