    Fighting Belts with Back Support

I'm in the market for a fighting belt specialized for jigging. I noticed that some have a back support harness option. Do these work, and if so are they worth the money? Any problems with mobility or comfort...say I saw something break on the surface and wanted to quick run to the bow to start casting poppers? Would I be potentially be impeded?

    Recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks - Cassidy

Cassidy, the best belt that I've found (which is of course crazy expensive) is the Fisherman belt. It wraps around your back, you barely feel it, it comes with straps that you can use to wrap the reel seat if your arms are spent, and there is a piece that you can zip on and off to make it into a bucket if you know you'll be chasing real monsters that you're going to want to fight that way. I use the MC works plate with it, but you could use whatever it was that worked for you.

Here is a shot of it from the back. If you look close you can see the zipper (on the bottom side) that the lower piece of the bucket attaches to

Here it is from the side

And with a good bend on the rod

    I hope that's helpful!

Thanks Shoe...pictures of your set-up from the Cancun post are what got me thinking about the harness. The thought of pulling up those Yucatan AJs up from 300 feet in heavy current started to make my back hurt prematurely. You're right about the MC Works being crazy expensive, but when you start to get serious about jigging you gotta have the right stuff

    Thanks again - Cassidy
