    Favorite jig for Grouper

Alright guys....what is your number one go to grouper jig? Personally i like a large sting silver..but would like to try out some different jigs.

Has anyone tried the Williamson jigs out for these bottom critters?

    Lets hear some opinions here

    Thanks

    Brandon

Brandon, day in and day out the Maria jig has been the best producer for me. Color pink has put more in the box than any other color. Red/ pink is the first color to wash out in the water colum. The "hot pink" will give you an "electric black"
for lack fo a better way to say it. It stands out down deep and the fish eat it. I think it is one of the most over looked colors out there today.
Here is a picture of what I use most...notice the well eaten one on the left!

Cheap jigs like OTI jig can do the job.

I tried one of those big(about 6" long) Williamson jigs the other day. It looked good but all I caught on it was a big beeliner. I didn't fish it that much and haven't done much jigging at all so I think i will try it again next time I am out there.

Lee, the jigs on the left are great. the glass minnow ones, i buy a handful evrey time i go up north to hatteras. come in all sizes and really are not that expensive and come in a wide type of shapes, a nice wide shape too that i like. they are mainly made for spanish and stripers , but work good for all sorts of stuff :-)

I have had a lot of luck lately with a 90 gram butterfly jig in the cigar minnow color.
