awesome fish guys certainly some hog cobias ... im sure they reacted well to having a gaff planted in them
Lord, I looked at OCP's website. I don't think I could deal with 50 people out there. Tell him I said good luck.
As for total cobia, I have seen you catch two, one on the bottom and one on the jig. I know you got one more on a boat and another pin rigging. Am I missing some? I have 6, but only 3 have been keepers. 70, 37, and a 35 lber with 3 babies on gotchas.
I should have caught one more, but you intercepted then "snagged" it with the jig while the goobers were watching a sheepshead swim by.

That fish was drunk, he was looking at my bluefish, opened his mouth to chow down, and you threw the bucktail in the hole. He wanted no part of that nasty thing!
I can tell you this. If I get a king next week, every trip to Avalon will be a bucktail trip. I will let the people who ride down with me use my live bait stuff. I still need to get that first king on my TLD.
I am jonesing to see the video footage of the cobia, especially the one that tried to tail walk, and ended up belly flopping!
thats funny u say that about jumpin cobes, because the little one i caught last month on jeff's boat came to the top and wanted to jump, i didnt like that. 20lb of drag + jumpin fish + 10oz jig is a little worrysome.
maybe he still had energy cuz i yanked him off the bottom to the top so fast lol
Very nice cobias Jim. Looks like Little Clam is following in Cato's footsteps. Happy to see a father son team putting their clients on the fish. Great report and catches.
Great job on the Lemon fish guys! What weight bucktails were you casting and did you dress them with anything? Thanks.
