DIY paint and clear coat??
my buddy just got the jig mold from do it molds (im thinking they will be great for when the kmacks are around and there are several bite offs a day). i want to paint them with something that will last more than 30 mins. i tried repainting some small sea striker jig fish jigs a couple of weeks ago with car touch up paint and then some krylon clear glaze as a clear coat. that clear glaze did not work very well, so any suggestions on something that i can get at a hardware store that will work for a harder clear coat?

I don't think auto paint is a good choice. Lead is soft so you need a paint that is soft. If the paint is hard and the lead bends or dents the paint will flake off.
The two best choices are vinyl jig paint and powder paint. The powder paint is somewhat hard but holds up well. Both are availible anywhere that sells lure building components. With the vinyl you dip the jigs and hang to dry. Down side is fumes and you have to prime with white for colors. Clear coat with one coat of vinyl clear. Powder is one coat paint but you have to heat the jigs first then bake to make them harden.
Good luck,
