Deep Jigging NC 1-28-2010 Live Line

Finally got a weather window and headed off shore to try our off shore jigging in Jan. Started in 140 feet and 1st drift a tripple headed of AJs. They averaged between 25 to 50 lbs. Had fish on every drift and action all day. Moved out to 250 to 300 feet and started catching Black fin 15 to 25 lbs and Africans mixed in with the Jacks. At the end of the day we had caught 11 different species and kept 3 Black fin and 5 Africans for the table and released everything else to fight another day.

Special thanks to JIm and Eastern Tackle Jigs

What is your average size on APs in NC?

We get quite a few in CR, but nothing quite as big as what you have there
