Penn 6500SS with PE4 + double dogs and tweaked drag (for guests), Diawa Saltiga Z4500 with 300m PE3, and Diawa 6500Exp with 500m PE6 for me!

Gave up on overheads, spinners outdrop them every time.

Yeh, same in size and shape.

The DF is Black, has a fast retrieve, and is a purpose designed GT reel, with a wider spool flange for popper casting with heavy PE (8-10)

The Exp is in Blue and with a 1metre per handle turn retrieve and is a pure jigging reel.

Both were designed for the japenese market and are made in japan, even the instructions come in japanese!
The only way to get one is by special order thro a Diawa importer or as most of us do, go direct.
You will find the japanese mail order shops very helpfull and you can email in english so no problems there.
Don't worry about the thing breaking down these reels are bombproof.

Diawa also make a Dogfight casting rod to match up with the reel.

HI:
I'm about to order a rod for this kind of fishing. I will want to use 50 pound BRAID and fish water depth from 150- thru- 300.
Jig weights will be from 7-10 ounces, or should I or can I use lighter jigs for COD/POLLACK at those depths?
The reel, I hope will be a TORIUM 3o or a an OKUMA CV45C . Any info on these reels will be appreciated. As you can see, my budget is limited right now.

The torium 30 will be fine to start with, i actually had one on the sale board a while ago..never used it..but they are a nice reel
