Decent spinning reel w/o breaking the bank

My youngest son broke his left arm, again Pretty crappy timing just before the fishing season. Since all of my rods are conventional, that doesn't help him out much. So I'm thinking of setting up a medium weight spinning/jigging rod/reel as he should be able to handle cranking the spinning reel with his broken arm, and lift fish with his right arm.

For a rod it'll probably be one of the shimano trevala's, I'm just clueless on what reel will be good for use on fish up to say 30#'s on the high end, but mostly in the 5-10# range. I plan to spool it with Daiwa PE-4 and would like to be able to get at least 200yds on the reel. He's not going to need a monster drag, he'll be turning 12 but is big for his age.

i would recommend the Daiwa Opus Bull 4500.. cheap and reliable.. and holds at least 240m of PE5..

Thanks for the input. But now I'm thinking I could just get him a left hand avet SX and swap it out on existing rods. I'll be out less $ than another rod/reel, not that I wouldn't mind an excuse to get another rod

Shimano Saragosa. 6 or 8K. You will be very pleased.
