Daiwa Doggfight?

Has anyone used this reel or heard any feedback on it yet!

i had the reel long ago when it was first released in Japan, almost 6 years ago,
the look is great and it is solid,
lost all my big fish due to sticky drag,
at some point during the fight the drag freeze and all of as sudden give again resulting in a sudden tension to the main line and leader, after that we all know what could happen
i changed to carbontex and it made a bit of difference,
i sold it 2 years ago and switch back to Shimano,
Shimano service is unbeatable and the reel is amazing,
i had over 30 big fish up to 200lb for the past 2 years without any service not to mention the other one caught below the 100lb mark,
Daiwa just introduce the Dogfight to the US market because they are about to launch a new reel for the Japanese market.
i will suggest you to buy a Stella.

Hey Waterman
The dogfight is a great bulletproof reel. The downfall as Sami said is the drag. I've replaced mine and it is better, also had to replace the line roller bearing and bushings. With that said there has been alot of fish on the other end of the reel. I think the gearing and body of the Saltigas is still the best out there.
In the end I still recommend Stella for warranty purpose and better drag. Knock on wood all my stelas are holding up more than expected. Plus there seems to be better pricing for them right now.

Aren't these geared for popping instead of jigging?

Dogfight 6.2:1

Expeditions and others are 4.3:1
