    Daiwa Boat Braid?

Is the PE6 really 80Lb test? Looks a little thin to me, and for some reason I thought PE8 was supposed to be 80Lb test...

I have a 300m spool in my hands right now. It is Daiwa Saltiga Boat braided line. 80lb. dia 0.017" 0.44mm. PE-6 (Dendoh). BTW, I'm putting it on a Saltist 40H.

The next bite on a jig.
It is widely known/believed that diawa line is over rated. It will probably test out lower than 80lbs, but that is the rating on it.

It is still the best general purpose line out. I just ordered a 1800yd spool from Alltackle yesterday(since they are a site sponsor) to get me through the summer.

I'm going to pull off some jerry brown on my saltiga 40. I want the smaller diameter, even though I am sacrificing some strength.

I had the same spool in my hands today, hence the question.

Oh well after putting it on the Stella, adding Power Pro to measure in order to fill up the rest of the spool, taking it off of the Stella and back on to a spool, then putting it on yet another spool, I finally got it on there to the right length with the Power Pro behind the Daiwa. Then I had to take it off of the Stella again because the loop to loop I tied was incorrect. Lots of reeling today...

    20K.

I didn't measure, but I'd say around 1/4 or so of the stella spool.

80 Lb power pro and 80 Lb boat braid. Which I believe is less than 80 Lb test.

i had to pull on both this weekend

to get jigs out of the bottom. the power pro broke in my gloved hands. not on the knot but in my hand.....the boat braid was amazingly stong and i got the jig out of the bottom after pulling about as hard as i could and it almost cut through the gloves, kinda scary knowing this shit would probably go to the bone. i say daiwa pe braid is superior. ive seen too many fish lost to power pro...

This was the deal I went for.

I pulled the jerry brown off my saltiga 40 last week and filled it up with boat braid. It looked really pretty completely full of fresh line.

I just spooled a new 20k last weekend and it took 500 yards of PE6 boat braid....if I can't stop it with 500 yards of 80 I don't deserve to catch it. Love the stuff.
