The next bite on a jig.
I looked on google earth and found a spot called Veinteseis that is supposed to be a good dive spot. I think talking to divers and fishermen there will be a good place to start. Most people will not post GPS numbers online.

I don't know of anything up by Suenos. I've heard the 26 rock is very good though. My advice would be to troll a zig zag pattern in a direction offshore from rocky points. I've found alot of my marks in the Osa Peninsula using this method. Look for structure over 100 feet in depth - the jigging here is usually alot better. It doesn't take much of a change in depth to hold fish either, especially if there isn't much else around. The cleaner the water the better as well.

    good luck - Cassidy

Is there a special feature that I don't know about that you used to find the 26 rock on google earth Jim? I've used google earth to locate general areas of interest before, but have never been able to zoom in close enough to find more specific structure. Please share your secrets with me if you have some.

I got the jigs. Thanks for putting some prototypes in there. I won't be able to use them until the end of the month, but I can already tell you that the fish will love em'...looking forward to sending you a pic of a big broomtail with the hammered jig hanging out of its mouth.

    Only general, not specific.

CRmarlin. I would keep a sharp eye on this thread.

I,m going to costa on feb and always stay in el pacifico in playa hermosa.I do my surfing down there.but never went jigging always sailfish and gallo.keep in touch maybe we can do research from escondida to the end of playa hermosa those rocks have to drop deep some time. there is a group of rocks rigth in betwen hermosa and jaco lots of people cast a popper looking for pargo, jacks and cudas if there is a drop to 100 ft you can start there like i said never went jigging over there but the spot is very close to shore. try it and let me know. stay in touch please i love it down there.

Down in the Osa I find that the jigging tends to be better around the low tide. This is especially true in waters 100 feet deep or less. The grouper and snapper bite usually picks up around 2 p.m. and will get better as you approach dark...stay out as long as you can. Cloudy days and a good chop tend to make the jigging better as well. That said, I've had stellar days in all conditions and all tides.

Also, If you're jigging structure that is 150 feet deep or less it's always good to have a big popper rigged and ready to go...cubrera and mullets will randomly come up to the surface to feed around slack tides.
