    Connections for jigging???

So hows everyone adding their mono topshot on their jigging setups?

Im using manly a 10" spyderhitch with the mono attached with an albright. I do my topshots on my trolling gear the same way.

The only other one I like is a bobbin knot, but so far its only been tested on seabass, tiles and bluefish. It leaves you a very clean connection, but is fairly time consumeing to complete. I want to test it out on the Aj's, just to see how hard I can pull before it comes apart, if it eve will.

The next bite on a jig.
Windons are the way to go for big fish. No not can compare. I have been making my own, but just found a source of ones made in australia. The are really well done. I got some extras to add to the site and will have them on this weekend.

For knots in a pinch, I am confident in my ability to tie slim- beauties, SIG and no-names knots.

I like the bobbin knot and agree it's a pain in the junk to tie and takes time. It's not something that I have mastered yet but I have tried it on the AJ's up to the 40# range and it has not failed.

I will try it on the bigger ones as soon as I get a chance.

I use the same connection and have never had it fail. I do however use a 3 turn uni lock after the albright. I caught several ajs over 50# with out fail.

Here's one for the books. I'm not sure, but I think it may be Pony in this video.

OK , that was different ! Draggin you speak Japanese ?
Seems to be a fancy version of a nail knot, wouldn't trust that on any hard heavy mono leader, rather shove 3-5 ft of mono up in piece of hollow dacron , and nail knot or whip finish both ends, smooth n strong.
