COD JIGGING ROD

typically there are a few different blank choices for where we have fished cod.
montauk and stelwagon we are able to use lighter setups.
mostly rated for 12-16oz jigs.

when we fished a little north, in the deeper water a heavier rod is needed.
some as thick as 24 tips

here is a acid cod jigger, any number of blanks can be used.

This is a calstar custom cut to work in stellwagon and montauk
i also like a nice lami.

This is typical of the fishing I do.Cod and Haddock mixed with tuna averaging 100#-200#.
Can you recommend a blank or type of rod for this application.
Jigging 14-17oz in general 300FOW.Need to be ready to handle a tuna when they hit but light enough to Jig all day for cod

Saltist 40, Avet LX or similar. Im digging the butterfly jigs for this fishery.

alot of the cod jigging blanks i use were popular when we were using long rods for tuna,
fishing off PB.
most of them will handle 100+# fish.
lami, calstar,
these will match nice with the saltist or LX.
that is what the rod here is for.
light and some good power.


200# tuna may be a challange.
