cobia hit every jig thrown at them

went out 2 weeks ago port canaveral and the cobia where on fire . we caught 15 all on jigs and one was free gaffed by the mate when it swam up behind one that was hooked up . it was a 60lber and was fighting pretty good in back of the boat .we had to wrestle it down.

Hey double a if you head out of canaveral they have been sticking around because of the cold water upwelling offshore. Head north out of port to some of the shoals when you see all the boats you know your there. Not sure if they are still there been a few weeks but it was steady for a month you see them coming from the deep water up to the shoal from east to west need to get high to spot them

    Very nice catch!
I assume you were throwing bucktail type jigs to them?

I freegaffed a 42lb cobia last summer that was circling my boat as I was sabiking blue runners. The fish beat the $hit out of me. Do not attempt fishing solo.

Gotta agree with you, Bubba, I have lots of gamefish experience, but was genuinely impressed with the spunk of my first Cobia. They fight hard on the hook, but they really hate the gaff!
