That's kinda how we hooked the 110lb AJ a couple months ago. My dad hooked a false albacore and while he was reeling it to the top the big AJ ate it and got the jig hook caught in his lip. I haven't dropped any bait while jigging though. Its constant action and I like the bite on the jig too much to worry with live bait

We haven't but my thoughts are always on makos for that. I have been formulating a plan to use one of the high speed rods to put that out there, especially this time of the year. I have caught makos trolling before, right off the reef where we jig.
