    Carolina Jigging

    6-7-09 fishing with Dave, Keith, Hearld

    Left Beaufort Inlet at 5am and headed due south
    WEATHER MAN was pretty much right on. ENE at 12-15 on the ride out so it was a bit bumpy.......put out the spread at 645am worked the area for around and hour with only a couple bailers and one fat ablert....so we pick up and move offshore. a couple miles short of the spot we see a nice rip and set back out.....work that area find a couple boards and pick up a few more dophin.....pushed out over the 30ft curve out to about 50ft.... no shiffs for mister Blue suit... but we tried so around 11am we pulled in all the gear and went to the bottom

    As we approach the first spot we come across a nice mark and make a drop on a very small spot...here is the result GOD I LOVE THAT FIRST DROP.....SORRY NO ACTION PHOTOS I WAS PRETTY BUSY WITH A BUCH OF NEWBIES ON THE JIGS.. this fish bottomed out my Manely drag scale i estimate him at 30lbs

    AFTER A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS ON THE SMALL SPOT WE MOVED ON.

    We stayed at our next spot to finish out the day...catching MANY MANY jacks with 2 that were close to 90lbs.. photos on another camera will post soon...
    and also got this nice gaffer 23lb on the jig as well. our best one of the day... couldn't get the girl to eat but he was hungry..

    Eastern Tackel Katanas in the tiger stripe was on fire..

    0-4 on cobia drive buys.. i almost free gaffed one in the rather large size range (it tried to eat a small jack we had hooked)
    they weren't interested in the jigs or bait just couldn't get them to bite....
    All in all A GREAT DAY on the water with friends...

    Pretty Work Zack. We also got a taste of some bad ole AJ's on saturday... When the fishing is slow you've got to love'em but when there are good fish what a pain!!!
